Composto per il giorno natalizio di Sua Altezza… Music composed by Anton Wranitzky for the birthdays of the 7th Prince Lobkowicz
The works of the Czech composer Antonín Vranický (1762–1820) are played rather rarely today. He, however, belongs to the most remarkable authors of the Viennese classicism. Antonín Vranický dedicated most of his career in music to service to the Lobkowicz Family. Numerous of his compositions are dedicated to his employer (and a close friend), an important music patron Josef František Maxmilián, 7th Prince Lobkowicz (1772–1816). Many of these compositions preserved in the Lobkowicz Music Archives were prepared for festive events, such as Violin concert in F major composed 1790 for 18th birthday of Josef František Maxmilián, 7th Prince Lobkowicz or the Symphony in D major for Prince’s 24th birthday.
