Educational Programs at Nelahozeves Castle

The rich history of Nelahozeves Castle makes it a perfect location for interesting and unique educational programs for children. We use the castle, its surroundings and items from The Lobkowicz Collections as tools to enhance school curriculum. Nelahozeves Castle offers folowing programs:

The Life of a Nobleman – Highchair to Highborn

Adapted for three age ranges; this tour aims to deepen the childrens’ knowledge of history and art through an interactive tour of the Castle followed by a creative workshop. During the tour the children will discover how a young nobleman lived in past centuries. The experience is enhanced by the use of costumes that the children will wear. The artistic workshop that will be carried out in one of the castle salons will help the children remember details from the tour.

  • Recommended age groups: Kindergarten, First and Second Grade, Primary School.
  • Length of Tour: 90 minutes (Tour and Workshop)
  • Admission Fee: 100 CZK per child, teachers attend free of charge (max. 1 per 10 students)

Disrespectful Dvořák

Our newest educational program will teach you, in an interesting way, about the life and work of the famous Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák. The children will learn to perceive time and the surrounding space in a different way. In playing with scenes from operas, they will learn to interpret Dvořák’s musical creations by setting them “under the sea” or in “outer space”. This will be carried out through comic drawings.

  • Recommended age groups: Primary School, First and Second Grade, Year 3 and above
  • Length of Tour: 90 – 120 minutes (Tour and Workshop)
  • Admission Fee: 100 CZK per child, teachers attend free of charge (max. 1 per 10 students)
